...and welcome to Moonkitty.NET, my Sailor Moon fansite that I started way back in 1999 as an Artemis shrine.

This website's come a long way since then and now covers the entirety of the Sailor Moon franchise from the classic 90s anime and manga to the new Sailor Moon musicals and Sailor Moon Crystal, Eternal, and Cosmos.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal is a new Sailor Moon anime project that's based on the classic manga series as the classic 90s anime but stays much closer to the source material.

The Sailor Moon Crystal anime consists of three full anime seasons and four movies.

  • Sailor Moon Crystal Seasons One, Two, and Three cover the first three main story arcs from the manga featuring the Dark Kingdom (or Negaverse for classic DiC fans), Black Moon (Nega Moon), and Death Busters (Heart Snatchers). All three Sailor Moon Crystal seasons are available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray, own digitally, and watch on a number of streaming platforms.
  • The two Sailor Moon Eternal movies, Part One and Part Two, cover the Dead Moon Circus or Dream arc. Both Sailor Moon Eternal movies can be watched on Netflix in all regions though are currently only available on DVD and Blu-ray in Japan.
  • Finally, the two Sailor Moon Cosmos movies cover the Stars manga arc. This is the same storyline that formed the basis of the 90s Sailor Stars anime season though will differ greatly from it given how many changes were made in that version. The Sailor Moon Cosmos Part One and Part Two movies are both set for a theatrical release in 2023.

    The Sailor Moon manga has been re-released in English with a new, vastly improved, translation, and higher quality digitally remastered image quality.

    Two versions of this third generation Sailor Moon manga release are available.

  • The Sailor Moon Eternal Edition boasts a massive page size, more colour pages than previous generation releases, glossy page stock, and shiny, glittery covers. A Kindle version of the Eternal Edition series has also been released.
  • The Naoko Takeuchi Collection Sailor Moon manga is essentially the cheaper paperback version of the Eternal Edition. It has the same English translation and high quality images but has less colour pages, lower quality paper, and a more affordable price.

    The classic Sailor Moon anime series and movies from the 90s have been re-released by Viz with a new English dub, the original Japanese language version, and English subtitles.

    Both the new Viz English dub and Japanese version are available to stream and purchase digitally on a variety of platforms. Full-season DVD and Blu-ray box sets are also in the process of being released.

    Looking for the classic 90s English dub of the Sailor Moon anime done by DiC with Serena, Darien, Rini, etc? Head on over to my shopping guide. Note that the classic 90s Sailor Moon DVDs with the DiC dub are no longer being made so, if you find one in stock anywhere, I highly recommend picking it up.
