 It’s been a pretty active week in the Sailor Moon Online Community since the release of the Cantonese Sailor Moon Commercials announcing the re-release of the Sailor Moon anime in Hong Kong. Fans seem to be more excited about this than say the Italian or other re-releases. One of the reasons may be the amount of Moonie Cantonese speakers spread around the world and the availability of the Cantonese dub in Chinatowns world wide. (The first time I saw Sailor Stars was with the Cantonese dub) Another reason may simply be the coolness of these ads that feature some pretty impressive live action transformations featuring the Canto voice actresses of Moon, Mars and Mercury.

In other news I’ve received a few emails about a rumour that says there is going to be a new Sailor Moon anime in 2011. This is completely fake. While it’s something a lot of fans would like to see (including myself  ) it has not been announced by any official sources. In fact there is no proof whatsoever except for an image that is OBVIOUSLY made by a fan.
There probably will be something huge for the 20th Anniversary and a new anime is possible but lets not say it’s fact until something official has been revealed.

Last month’s poll turned out to be a very happy success for me. I’ve always been a strong advocate of the DiC dub and constantly remind people that just because the anti-dubbers (nothing wrong with being one if you are) are the most vocal online it doesn’t necessarily mean everyone hates the English dub of Sailor Moon. In fact when I asked if you would buy a DVD or BluRay release of the DiC episodes 64% voted yes! 22% said no and 14% were unsure. If just half of the unsures bought the release then that would be 75% of Sailor Moon fans who would buy the English dub. Very interesting. Being someone who would also love to buy a rerelease of the DiC dub I hope the companies involved in any future rerelease consider this. Of course I would also buy a redub and a resub of the series. 
Note: Let’s not turn the comments into a dub versus sub war, okay?

There’s a brand new layout image for the Sailor Moon Channel. Random trivia, those sunflowers are actually called “Sailor Moon Sunflowers”. No joke.
Off topic but I think it’s definitely worth mentioning: The new Pokemon anime series that will be starting in about a month is going to feature, for the first time a black girl as a main character! I know there have been other black characters in other animes (there’s at least one in Bleach for example) but it’s so rare to see. Those who have never been to Japan may be unaware just how many minority groups (non-pure-Japanese) there are here though the media perpetuates the stereotype of a homogeneous society. Here’s hoping this is the start of more racial diversity in anime. Check out a video of the new character here. Incidentally if you’re like me and are going to buy the new Pokemon Black & White as soon as they’re out in Japan you can get more info about them here.
@Mercurius360 reports that there was no mention of a Sailor Moon rerelease at Otacon. Boo! 
Funimation has been quoted as saying if they do get Sailor Moon they will be doing a complete redub of all the seasons, specials and movies.
Sailor Moon will be getting a redub in Brazil though. 
The New Kindle  has been announced! I’ve preordered mine and can’t wait for the release later this month! Am looking forward to reviewing manga in a new Kindle section on Moonkitty.net! Definitely the way of the future and can’t wait to see how manga publishing companies release series digitally in the future.
MoonSticks is something I would love to see on the Kindle. btw you should check out the different languages available now! Great translations done by the fans for the fans!!!

 Well the Funimation panel at Comicon has come and gone and several people who were there have commented and tweeted me about there being no reference to the series at all.
While this is disappointing, personally I still think it’s only a matter of time before we get Sailor Moon again. We just have to be patient!
To end on a happy note check out this Sailor Moon music video set to the classic song, Material Girl. I almost didn’t feature it because it doesn’t allow me to embed it in this post (why on Earth do people disable embedding on their videos???) but it’s got some great timing with the editing and above all is super fun to watch. Enjoy!

 Hey there Sailor Moon fan! Having a great week?
There’s been some cool Sailor Moon website updates this week so let’s get started!
The epic Moon Sticks created by Jen is undergoing some changes. You can read all about them in her post here. Make sure to comment and say how much you love Moon Sticks! The nav has also gone under a bit of a redesign. Me like!
I’m still in awe over the wonderful comments left by all you wonderful Moonies in my 11th Anniversary Post. Imagine my manly squeal of joy when I found out Family of Moonlight wrote a feature about Moonkitty.net! Thanks guys!
I’ve been swamped with several things lately such as work, Japanese and Mandarin studying and have really let some things slide. This first thing I’ve forgotten to mention is I have a new affiliate, the wonderfully amazing Sailor Stars Fan Dub!!! have you seen Episode 5 yet? It’s REALLY good. The other thing that I haven’t gotten around to yet is announcing the winner of the TWITTER COMPETITION!!! Stay tuned for the announcement very soon!!! (can’t believe how quickly time has flown!!!)
In other site news I have cleaned up the Sailor Moon SuperS Anime Episode Guide quite a bit. Everything now has great spacing and shopping info for each episode on every page. Enjoy!

 Great news today! The second Sailor Moon SuperS DVD Box is up for pre-order!
It’s so crazy for fast this year has gone! Seems like only yesterday these boxes were announced! They look great and I can’t wait to have them all.
Recently I’ve changed jobs and gone about 2 months without any new income so naturally, rent and food has had to come first.
 Because of this I haven’t been able to grab these latest boxes. If you have though, and you want to take some photos of your boxes I would be more than happy to post them here and give you credit (and maybe a link to your site!).
I’m really curious to see what the first Sailor Moon S box looks like!

 Hey guys. Just realised that this week’s Moonie Music Monday post didn’t publish. Sorry about that! Will postpone it for this Monday coming. Don’t want to give you too much content all at once!
This past week while not doing nearly as much site work as I wanted, I managed to write some more Sailor Moon DVD reviews for the Shopping Guide. Check out my reviews for the first and second Japanese DVDs!

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week. 
It’s been a pretty exciting weekend so far!
In the last few days several fansites have been reporting Toei showing off Sailor Moon to potential buyers at a recent expo which is great news but isn’t really anything new as we’ve known the rights had been released months ago. As of right now no company seems to have purchased the series for a re-release in English speaking countries however it really is only a matter of time so no-one stress too much.
