Three Sailor Moon Proplica are currently set for release in 2024. The first release, in January, is the Eternal Tiare based on the magical staff's design as seen in the two Sailor Moon Cosmos anime movies. Brilliant Colour Edition re-releases of the Moon Stick and Brooch & Disguise Pen Set are due in April and September respectively.Sailor Moon Transformation Brooch & Disguise Pen (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica Set
Due out in September 2024, this re-release of the Sailor Moon Transformation Brooch & Disguise Pen Proplica Set features new gold and pink colours and more vibrant crystals for the brooch.
Sailor Moon Moon Stick (Moon Wand) (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica
This April 2024 version of the Moon Stick proplica differs from the original 2014 release and its 2018 re-release. This version is a Brilliant Color Edition Proplica which means that it boasts slightly brighter colours on the stick and crescent moon sections.
Sailor Moon Cosmos Eternal Tiare Proplica
The Eternal Tiare Proplica measures around 87cm in length, making it almost a one-to-one scale of its size in the Sailor Moon Cosmos movies. At least when it's not extended. This epic Sailor Moon Proplica wand includes built-in LED light, vocal and effect sound, and background music functionality. It also boasts three different modes which allow it to light up a little or a lot while on display.
Sailor Moon Proplica 2023
2023 saw the release of the Sailor Moon Cosmos Eternal Moon Article, Eternal Sailor Moon's transformation brooch from the Sailor Moon Cosmos anime films. The Cosmic Heart Compact Proplica and the Spiral Heart Moon Rod Proplica were also re-released with special Brilliant Color Edition versions. The design of the Eternal Moon Article Proplica is heavily inspired by the look of the Eternal Moon Article in the 90's Sailor Stars anime as the brooch in the manga (which the Sailor Moon Crystal, Eternal, and Cosmos anime projects are heavily inspired by) was usually drawn as a basic heart with no details. Its colours and more stylised shape are unique to this version though.
Cosmic Heart Compact (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica
The Cosmic Heart Compact (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica is similar to the original Cosmic Heart Compact Proplica that came out in 2016 though features new sculpting and a color-chromed finish which gives it a slightly brighter appearance.
Spiral Heart Moon Rod (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica
The Spiral Heart Moon Rod (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica has the same physical sculpt as the 2015 Spiral Heart Moon Rod Proplica. Its only difference is its color-chromed finish which makes it appear slightly brighter.
Sailor Moon Proplica 2022
2022 was a bit of a quiet year for Sailor Moon Proplica releases even though the two Sailor Moon Eternal movies came out in the year prior. The only Proplica that came out in 2022 was the Sailor Moon Eternal Crisis Moon Compact Proplica.Sailor Moon Eternal Crisis Moon Compact Proplica
The Sailor Moon Eternal Crisis Moon Compact Proplica is a replica of Super Sailor Moon's transformation brooch as seen in Sailor Moon Eternal Part One and Part Two. Like the other Proplicas, it's 1:1 scale which makes it perfect for using with a Sailor Moon cosplay, fan film, or photoshoot.
Sailor Moon Proplica 2021
Following the release of Sailor Moon Eternal in early-2021, Bandai Tamashii Nations released the Sailor Moon Eternal Moon Kaleidoscope Proplica.Sailor Moon Eternal Moon Kaleidoscope Proplica
The design of this Proplica is based off of the look of Super Sailor Moon's wand in the two anime movies so features some minor physical differences and entirely different colours than the Moon Kaleidoscope shown in the classic 90's Sailor Moon SuperS anime series.
Sailor Moon Proplica 2020-2014
The Sailor Moon Proplica line started in 2014 with the Moon Stick Proplica. It was soon followed by other Sailor Moon wands, several transformation brooches or compacts, and some items belonging to other characters such as Sailor Uranus and Neptune's transformation sticks and Sailor Mini Moon's compact and wand. Due to the popularty of some Proplica, a few were re-released with slightly brighter colours that looked closer to how they appeared in the 90's Sailor Moon anime series. These re-releases featured the Brilliant Colour Edition tag in their name.Sailor Moon Cutie Moon Rod (Moon Sceptre) (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica
The final Proplica release of 2020 was the Brilliant Color Edition re-release of the Sailor Moon Cutie Moon Rod. This version of Sailor Moon's wand from the Sailor Moon R anime is identical to the original Proplica release though boasts a brighter metalic colour aesthetic.
Sailor Moon R Crystal Star (Brilliant Color Edition) Proplica
This is a re-release of the original Sailor Moon R Crystal Star Proplica which came out several years prior. Like the original, it's inspired by Sailor Moon's compact in the second season of the 90's anime, Sailor Moon R.
Chibi (Mini) Moon Compact Proplica
The second half of 2019 saw the release of a Proplica inspired by Sailor Chibi Moon's second transformation brooch from the 90's Sailor Moon anime series, SuperS.
Sailor Moon Transformation Brooch & Disguise Pen Proplica Set
The first Proplica release for 2019 was Sailor Moon's first transformation brooch and her disguise pen. Both items came bundled as a set and are designed to work together.
Sailor Chibi (Mini) Moon Prism Heart Compact Proplica
In August 2018, a Proplica based on Sailor Chibi Moon's first transformation brooch from Sailor Moon S was released. Like the other transformation compacts, the Prism Heart Compact Proplica also opens up and features special light and sound effects.
Sailor Uranus & Neptune Lip Rod (Transformation Stick) Proplicas
In July 2018, official Proplica of Sailor Neptune and Uranus' lip rod transformation sticks were released. These Proplica were sold separately and as a set. Each rod comes with a stand that fits together with the stand of the other rod so that they can be displayed together.
Sailor Chibi (Mini) Moon Pink Moon Stick Proplica
The last Proplica release of 2017 was Sailor Chibi Moon's (or Sailor Mini Moon's) Pink Moon Stick from the Sailor Moon S anime season. This mini Sailor Moon wand plays sound effects and the pink crystal lights up when activated.
Tuxedo Mirage Memorial Ornament Proplica x Figuarts Zero Chouette
The rarest Sailor Moon Proplica (and Chouette) has to be the replica of the music box from the Tuxedo Mirage closing credits from the Sailor Moon S anime. This product got a very limited release and is extremely hard to find nowadays.
Sailor Moon Moon Kaleidoscope Proplica
2017's first proplica was Super Sailor Moon's wand from Sailor Moon SuperS, the Moon Kaleidoscope. Like the other wands, the Moon Kaleidoscope plays sound effects and the primary crystal lights up.
Sailor Moon Cosmic Heart Compact Proplica
2016 ended with the release of Sailor Moon's Cosmic Heart Compact transformation brooch from the Sailor Moon S anime. The compact opens, plays sound effects, and lights up.
This original Cosmic Heart Compact Proplica is incredibly hard to find as it was eventually replaced by the Brilliant Color Edition version in 2023.
Sailor Moon Rainbow Moon Chalice (Holy Grail/Purity Chalice) Proplica
The first half of 2016 saw the release of the Rainbow Moon Chalice (Purity Chalice or Holy Grail in the 90's dub) from Sailor Moon S. This was the first Sailor Moon Proplica to be based on something that was neither a wand nor transformation brooch.
The Rainbow Moon Chalice Proplica's lid can open, just like in the anime. The interior crystal also lights up in a variety of colours and sound effects are supported.
Sailor Moon Spiral Moon Heart Rod Proplica
The second half of 2015 heralded the arrival of the Spiral Moon Heart Rod Proplica. Based on Sailor Moon's wand from the third season of the 90's anime, Sailor Moon S, this Proplica is a 1:1 scale replica of the popular item and comes with a white stand in the shape of the Moon Chalice.
The Spiral Heart Moon Rod Proplica plays sound effects from the anime. The crystal within the centre of the heart also lights up in a variety of different colours.
Sailor Moon Crystal Star Compact Proplica
The first Crystal Star Compact Proplica was released in 2015. This Proplica is based on Sailor Moon's transformation brooch in the second season of the 90's anime, Sailor Moon R. The compact can open, play sound effects from the anime, and light up.
Note that a Brilliant Color Edition version of the Crystal Star Compact Proplica was released in 2020. It's basically identical but features brighter colours.
Sailor Moon Cutie Moon Rod (Moon Sceptre) Proplica
The first Cutie Moon Rod (or Moon Sceptre for DiC fans) Proplica came out in 2014. It feaures light and sound effects and comes with a white stand inspired by the Moon Palace.
A Brilliant Color Edition version of the Cutie Moon Rod Proplica came out in 2020. Unlike most of the other Brilliant Color Edition releases which just added brighter colours, the Cutie Moon Rod re-release used a slightly different colour scheme which changed its look significantly. Sailor Moon Moon Stick (Moon Wand) Proplica
The first Sailor Moon Proplica was the Moon Stick (or Moon Wand if you're a 90's DiC dub devotee) which came out in 2014. Both the Silver Crystal and the small coloured gems light up, sounds from the 90's anime play, and the crystal itself can be removed.
The Moon Stick Proplica was re-released in 2018. This re-release was identical to the original 2014 version. A Brilliant Color Edition of the Moon Stick Proplica is set for release in 2024. Information on this version can be found in the 2024 Proplica Release list at the top of this page.
What Is Sailor Moon Proplica?
Sailor Moon Proplica are high quality replicas of wands, weapons, and other items from the Sailor Moon franchise. Current Proplica are inspired by items from the 90's Sailor Moon anime series and the new Sailor Moon Crystal reboot. Future Proplica releases may be inspired by the Sailor Moon manga, musicals, and live-action TV series though nothing has been officially announced yet. Each Sailor Moon Proplica item is typically 1:1 scale and includes a variety of functionality ranging from LED lights, sound effects, music, and even dialogue recorded by Sailor Moon voice actors.What Does Proplica Mean?

While Proplica can look like cheap plastic toys to the casual observer, they typically attract a premium price due to their actual quality and the limited number of each model produced.Why is Proplica Important?
Proplica is important to anime fans because the brand typically releases recreations of items from anime series and films that have either never been released or are incredibly hard to come by. For example, the Eternal Tiare has only been released as a toy or model a couple of times back in the late-90's. Those releases are very hard to find and often sell for hundreds or even thousands of dollars nowadays. The Eternal Tiare Proplica is a dream come true for many Sailor Moon fans who had always wanted an official replica of the item from the series. The Eternal Tiare Proplica is also the first release of the magical staff that's based on the look as seen in the Sailor Moon Cosmos movies which itself was inspired by the design and colours seen in the original source material, the Sailor Moon manga.Which Proplica Is Best?
What Proplica you think is the best is entirely subjective. Personally, my favourite Sailor Moon Proplica is the Moon Wand (or Moon Stick) Proplica. There's something so iconic about the original Sailor Moon wand and the Proplica looks and sounds fantastic. I actually have mine on display on my home bar as a conversation piece for when I have friends over.What Sailor Moon Proplica Wands Are There?
All five of the primary wands from the Sailor Moon series have been released as Proplica. The Moon Wand (Moon Stick), Moon Sceptre (Cutie Moon Rod), Spiral Moon Heart Rod, and Moon Kaleidoscope Proplica are based on their 90's Sailor Moon anime designs. The Eternal Tiare Proplica, however, is inspired by its design in the Sailor Moon Eternal and Sailor Moon Cosmos movies (which are part of the Sailor Moon Crystal anime reboot which itself is heavily inspired by the manga).Are Proplica Swords Metal?
There are several high quality Proplica swords that have been released such as Demon Slayer's Broken Nichirin Sword, the Tanjiro Kamado Sword, and Sword Art Online's Blue Rose Sword.
Why Is My Proplica Not Working?
If your Proplica's lights and sounds have stopped working properly, you may need to replace the batteries. If you can't recall ever inserting batteries into your Proplica, now would be a good time to do so. Make sure that you're using the correct battery type (the type to use should be listed on the Proplica's box or in its instruction manual) and that the batteries are being inserted the correct way (not upside down). To lengthen the life of your Sailor Moon Proplica, take care not to drop it.
